Pathways:

Stage One: To master this stage, the practitioner must willingly relinquish their natural form, performing a ritual of mutilation and corruption that warps their body into an abominable, monstrous shape. Their appearance becomes horrific and alien, permanently.

• Bonus: Gains 5x physical strength, endurance, and reflexes. Their body become resistant to physical trauma.

• Backlash: The user’s appearance becomes grotesque and disturbing, causing most NPCs and characters to react with fear or disgust. Social interaction becomes extremely difficult unless disguised or concealed.

Stage Two: The user must perform a soul-branding ritual, permanently corrupting their own mana with the cursed essence of the technique. Their magical presence becomes foul, repulsive, and heavy.

• Bonus: Gains a 5x boost to magic power and control, and their spells become naturally toxic or cursed in theme.

• Backlash: Their mana emits a repelling aura. Most magical beings or sensitive beings sense the unnaturalness and are instinctively disturbed or hostile. Healing magic becomes less effective on them.

Stage Three: To master this stage, the user must sacrifice the purity of their soul, allowing the technique to infect and deform it. Their soul becomes twisted, leaving a lasting mark on their essence that others can feel.

• Bonus: Gains a combined 8x physical and 5x magical stat boost, and their soul becomes resistant to purification, possession, or soul magic.

• Backlash: Others with soul-sight or spiritual sensitivity will feel visceral discomfort or hatred around them. Animals and sacred entities may refuse to be near them. Their presence alone may cause unease, nausea, or fear in normal people.

Stage Four: To proceed, the user must purge themselves of all higher emotions, joy, sadness, love, fear, rage, until only primal instinct and warped purpose remain. This emotional death is irreversible unless the technique is forcefully severed.

• Bonus: Becomes immune to fear, charm, illusion, emotional magic, and psychic manipulation. They act with unflinching instinct and unwavering focus in combat.

• Backlash: The user becomes a husk, unable to connect emotionally to others. Their decisions are cold, mechanical, or instinct-driven, making social integration nearly impossible.

Final Stage: To complete the technique, the user must fully surrender themselves—their body, mind, soul, and magic, to the Cursed Abnormal Technique, becoming its perfect vessel. They cease to be a person and become an entity.
