Path of Resolve
What is the Path of Resolve?
The Path of Resolve is a personal journey that any character can walk, regardless of race, class, origin, or affiliation. There are no scrolls to read, no hidden masters to find; and one does not require anything to walk the path, just their resolve.
Instead, it is shaped through real feats: acts of growth, challenge, endurance, sacrifice, and courage, all showcased by the person as they go through life.
Every time a person pushes beyond their limits, they take a step further down this path, and they grow and benefit from it.
How It Works
Everyone starts at Stage 0 by default. At this Stage, there is no benefit from the path, but it is the beginning; somewhere that all people must start before they can truly grow. When they accomplish something narratively meaningful, something that changes or tests them, they may submit it to review as a growth opportunity.
The Roleplay Team determines whether the event qualifies as a Breakthrough, allowing them to progress to the next Stage; keep in mind, breakthroughs are not earned by training posts or self-roleplay, they're tied to your growth and story.
A person is more likely to grow from taking on something that challenges them as a person, their level, and no two situations can work for people. Everyone faces different challenges, and everyone grows differently.
Growth Stages
Each Stage grants a permanent boost to your passive capabilities, both physical and magical:

-

-

These boosts stack cumulatively and add to the passive stat.
Flexible Growth
In addition to the fixed stat boosts, each Stage grants a single Boon chosen by the Roleplay Team. These boons are based on what was overcome, not pre-written templates. So, the more you overcome, the more you will grow; and the better you become, the harder the challenges you face.
Examples:
-
Survived the Arctic Wastes? You gain passive frost resistance.
-
Resisted a mind-breaking curse? Your willpower becomes harder to shatter.
-
Held a bridge alone against twenty foes? You may fight better when outnumbered.
