The Power Within Beasts

Monster Cores are multi-functional and very useful in growth and progression.

Due to the increase in mana throughout the world, not just the land itself, but even the creatures that roam it have begun to change. One such change are Monster Cores, Monster Cores are mana nuclei that naturally form within faunas that have reached a certain level of mana density from absorbing ambient mana. With the rise in ambient mana across the world, Monster Cores have begun to emerge as potent sources of power. While rare in weaker creatures, they are commonly found in stronger ones, with size and use varying based on the creature's strength and nature.

They come in different shapes and sizes, but their core function remains the same: to boost magical or physical abilities when refined and consumed. Some even enhance or grant additional affinities, though those are rarer.

Effects by Rank

  • E-Rank: Extremely rare due to low mana in E-Rank creatures. If found, it can boost abilities or physical attributes by 1–3%; however, it can only boost one aspect.

  • D-Rank: Slightly more common; boosts range between 3-8%; however, it can only boost one aspect.

  • C-Rank: Contains more mana; grants an 8-15% boost; however, it can only boost one aspect.

  • B-Rank: Dense mana content; yields a 15-25% boost; however, it can only boost one aspect.

  • A-Rank: High mana concentration and possible affinity; enhances by 25-50%; however, it can only boost one aspect.

  • S-Rank: Extremely potent and dangerous; if safely consumed, it offers a 50-85% boost and guarantees an affinity; however, it can only boost one aspect.

Cores above C-Rank must be purified before consumption to prevent dangerous backlash. This purification requires soaking the core in a mix of Liquid Mana, personal Mana, and Purifying Water.

Monster Cores, while powerful, have limits to how much they can be used, and how often they can be used, with the stronger the monster the core comes from naturally playing a part in these limitations.

  • E Rank Monster Cores aren’t very strong, and as such, they have almost no limitations on how often they can be consumed, and a max of 200 Cores can be consumed in total.

  • D Rank Monster Cores usually do not contain a lot of mana within them, and as such, they also do not have massive limitations on consumption and max amount; they can consume up to 5 per day, with a max amount of 100.

  • C Rank Monster Cores also do not contain a lot of mana but are better than D rank cores, so they have limitations of around 3 cores per day, with a max amount of 60.

  • B Rank Monster Cores contain potent mana, and as such, they have a greater limitation of around 1 core per 3 days, and a max amount of 35.

  • A Rank Monster Cores contain very dense mana, and some even contain certain affinities; as such, they need much more time to digest, with a limit of 1 core per 2 weeks, and a max limit of 20.

  • S Rank Monster Cores are overflowing mana and dangerous to consume, but if one can find a way to consume them without being injured, then they can only be consumed once per few months, with a total consumption amount of around 5.

Formation Rates

While Monster Cores can naturally form in Monsters, not all have them.

Monster Cores are formed within the bodies of monsters, otherwise known as Faunas. They are naturally formed as the creature ages and conducts mana in their body; this causes it to take a solid form, often in the shape of an orb, but other shapes can exist too.

While all Faunas have the chance to form a core, there are still conditions to be met for them to form, specific things such as age, mana density, and even the creature itself can play a part.

  • Normal F Rank Faunas do not form cores.

  • E Rank Fauna have a very low rate, with chances close to 1 in 10000.

  • D Rank Fauna have a higher rate of forming than others, but it is still considered rare even amongst them, being within 1 in 1000.

  • C Rank Fauna have a much higher rate of forming than others, with a rate of 1 in 100.

  • B Rank Faunas are very dense with mana and as such have a very likely forming rate for a core, with a 1 in 10 chance.

  • A Rank Fauna all have cores, finding one without a core would be the hard part.

  • S Rank Faunse have very dense mana, and all have cores, some even have multiple smaller cores in them.
