Gods and Divine

Gods, beings that have been proven to exist and are worshipped by the people of Shinseina. With there existing 3 Main Gods, numerous Demi-Gods, and quite a few False Gods.

The Divine

The Realms of Shinseina World is governed by an expansive and infinitely complex hierarchy of divine beings, each with a distinct role in maintaining balance and responsibility that they are required to uphold, granted the ability to do so by their creator.

At its pinnacle is Kami, the all-powerful creator and origin of everything, whose will is carried out by various divine entities; they are the creator of everything, whether directly or indirectly all that exist stems from them.

Shina, the Goddess of Creation, and Yomoko, the God of Destruction, the children of Kami that he made before the Realms themselves were even though upon, they are the balance of life and death, growth and decay, creation and destruction; together, they ensure the cycles of existence continue.

Below them, Kami made the Angels to serve as overseers and protectors of divine will and the Realms, while in turn they made the Demi-Gods to oversee specific aspects of reality, laws as some could call it, influencing all the Realms and Sub-Realms through reality.

Embodiments, meanwhile, represent the raw essence of abstract forces that came into being over time, rather then specifically created; they exist outside the traditional hierarchy but are deeply tied to the Demi-Gods in turn.

Once, there were also The Depthless, a race created alongside the Angels to govern the Realms from a perspective different from that of the Angels. However due to unknown reasons of the past, the Angels turned on them, sealing The Depthless into the Void, a place outside of the Realms, where they stayed for some time; now things have changed.

Though these divine beings rarely interact directly, their influence is ever-present, and their power can not be denied.

Kami

Kami, often referred to as just God, is known as the first being in existence and the origin of all that is; for all intent and purpose, Kami is Existence itself. It is believed that Kami’s will is the foundation upon which everything was created, from the realms to the continuous expanse of existence, and as the supreme creator of all this, Kami is thought to be all-powerful, their abilities limitless, capable of bending, shaping, and rewriting the fabric of existence itself.

Kami is described as formless and beyond comprehension, a being that defies definition; in past encounters, meeting, or descriptions of Kami have they taken the same form, being able to change into anything they see fit, humanoid or otherwise.

It is said that no mortal mind could ever grasp their true nature, for Kami is not bound by physicality or identity, they are something that exists beyond that; they are genderless, neither male nor female, and can take any form they wish, an animal, a person, a voice, or even a shadow on the wind.

Rarely does Kami choose to directly intervene in the realms they created, in fact, it is said to be exceedingly rare for them to step into the mortal realm or any realm for that matter. Instead, Kami communicates their will through subtler means, dreams, visions, illusions, or other divine signs, leaving their creations to interpret and act upon their messages; in other cases, they use their creations to get involved, their angels, demi-gods, and so forth, to carry out their will.

Mortals and divine beings alike revere, fear, wonder, and even worship their existence; to some, Kami represents a beacon of creation and order; to others, they are a silent force, observing without judgment.

Whatever the interpretation, one truth remains constant, everything that exists, both seen and unseen, owes its being to Kami.

Shina - Goddess of Creation

Shina was tasked with bringing creation and beauty into the Realms, she is the very idea of creation, she is the force that gives birth to mountains, rivers, forests, and life itself, weaving existence from nothingness. Shina is said to be capable of creating anything, whether it be new forms, landscapes, or ecosystems itself, even the races, faunas, flora, and all that roam the Realms are believed to be a part of Shina's creation.

And as the Goddess of Creation, she is one of the most worshipped and revered being throughout the Realms; she is seen as the guardian of life and nature, her influence extends to every birth, every seed that takes root, and every breath of life that flows through the realms.

Mortals pray to Shina in times of need, when hoping for a safe birth, healing from an illness, or the restoration of a blighted land, her favor is sought through offerings of flowers, prayers beneath the moon, and acts of creation in her name.

Though Shina rarely reveals herself, written and spoken tales of encounters of her, describe her form as breathtaking beyond comprehension; every form she takes is believed to be made out of a radiating beauty, that transcends mortal comparison. Her very presence like a sun shining in an endless night, unforgettable to all who have glimpsed her.

Shina is not only a creator but also a caretaker, guiding her creations with a gentle touch, unseeable but every present, yet her role is incomplete without her twin brother, Yomoko, whose purpose serves to balance her endless creation.

Yomoko - God of Destruction

Yomoko, the son of Kami and twin brother of Shina, much like his sister, he was brought into existence to fil the endless emptiness that existed before anything, Kami made them out of longing and a sense of loneliness, each made to balance each other.

Where Shina brings life, Yomoko ensures that nothing grows unchecked and maintains the constant law that all that exist, will one day come to an end. As the God of Destruction, he is the very idea of destruction itself, in all its various forms, be it endings, decay, death, and the inevitability of change.

His role is not to harm, as many misunderstand it to be, he is not evil, nor is he simply destructive in nature, instead it is to ensure balance, maintaining the cycles of life and death that sustain the realms.

Yomoko possesses the power to destroy anything, whether with a snap of his fingers, a thought, or a simple glance; he can take the life of any living being, dry up lakes, wither forests into dust, or bring mighty mountains crumbling to the ground.

Unlike his sister, Yomoko’s true form has never been fully revealed and he has very rarely shown himself in the Realms, most of the time he does, it is often left with no witnesses, and no one left to tell the tale. When he manifests, he is said to appear as a being clad in a sleek, silver suit, his form featureless and his skin shimmering like polished metal; his presence is often accompanied by an eerie stillness.

Though many mortals fear or misunderstand him, Yomoko’s role is as sacred as Shina’s and he is worshipped no less; together, Shina and Yomoko form the pillars of balance.

Angels and The Depthless

In the beginning, when the Realms were just beginning, when the first race of people had only just been made, when life was new to the Realms, Kami made into existence two great races to govern the vastness of their creation: the Angels and the Depthless. Together, they were to uphold the balance and oversee the Realms, balancing the order of all things and ensuring that the Realms functioned as they should, preventing any issue from arising, each entrusted with a perspective unique to their nature.

The Angels were beings of light and order, forged to be the protectors and overseers of divine will. They stood as not only as vigilant guardians of the realms but also as keepers of the order that governed those realms, their purpose defined by the command Kami made into their very being.

The Depthless, in contrast, was enigmatic and boundless, embodying a perspective that defied mortal understanding, a mass of thoughts and consciousness, all intertwined into one. They were not tethered to the same rigid sense of order as the Angels, instead tasked with perceiving the greater possibilities of existence, seeing what the Angels could not, they were not the opposite of angels, but a different piece; where the Angels sought to carry out the divine order, they sought to refine it.

For a time, harmony reigned.

The Angels and the Depthless worked together, ensuring the stability of the realms and the Divine Realm itself. However, as the ages turned, something occurred, the exact details is unknown, some say it was due to a crime, others say they began to question the necessity of the Depthless, seeing their boundless nature as dangerous, their role as a challenge to Kami’s order rather than a complement to it.

Whatever the reason may be, the outcome was what mattered, war.

In an act that would echo through the ages, the Angels turned against the Depthless, waging a divine war that shook the fabric of existence and costed the lives of countless mortals and divine alike. However in the end due to their numbers, their collective might, the Angels sealed the Depthless into the Void, the space between the realms, a prison that cannot be escaped.

The Angels emerged victorious, their authority unchallenged, yet, their betrayal left a scar upon the realms.
