Familiar Information

────────✧────────

Familiars are people's best friends; some are tamed, some are forced. But familiars are faunas that have been bonded to a person.

The Power Of Keenship

Familiars, power gained through working alongside a creature.

A Familiar is a creature bonded to a person through strong emotional or spiritual ties. These ties may form through forced control or, more commonly, through genuine affection, trust, and mutual loyalty. Familiars serve their masters in a wide variety of ways, from aiding in battle to assisting in daily life.

To obtain a familiar in Shinseina, one must register them properly by choosing an existing creature from the fauna channel or creating a new one altogether. Custom familiars are allowed so long as they are not of Rare rank or higher and do not possess a Danger Level of C or above. Provided these conditions are met, players are free to create creatures of their own design and backstory.

Registering a familiar involves submitting the following information in full: the master’s name, the familiar’s name, the familiar’s unique ability or magical trait, information about the familiar’s race or species, including whether it was custom-made or drawn from existing fauna, and a brief explanation of how the familiar was obtained, such as a chance encounter, ritual bonding, or childhood companionship. Extra details may be added as needed to give context or flavor to the familiar’s origin and purpose.

Familiars are more than just tools or sidekicks; they are often reflections of the summoner's soul, values, or journey. Whether forged through hardship or nurtured through care, the connection between master and familiar is one of the most meaningful ties a character can form within the world.
