The Power From Beyond

Eldritch Contractual Incantations are a newly emerging form of magic, comparable to spells in function, but far closer in nature to Pagan Magic. These incantations are not powered by mana, but instead by desire, sacrifice, and the influence of unknowable entities. When a user calls out with a deep longing and offers the proper sacrifice, they can invoke the power of beings beyond comprehension to fulfill their intent. The magnitude of the result is determined not by magical skill, but by the price willingly paid.

These incantations are not yet widely known, though their influence is growing. Strange whispers, forgotten texts, and visions of otherworldly origin have led some down the path of learning them, often at a terrible cost.

The practice of Eldritch Contractual Incantations follows three fundamental stages:

• Sacrificing: The user must offer something of value. This can include, but is not limited to, lives, souls, memories, emotions, magic, items, or even bonds. The power summoned is directly proportional to the worth of the offering. Sacrifices are often delivered via ritualistic methods or by reaching out to the unknown through invocation.

• Imagining: Closely tied to the act of sacrifice, the user's visualization determines the nature of the incantation’s outcome. Without clarity and intent, the invoked power may manifest in unintended, uncontrollable, or even horrific ways.

• Conduit: Once the sacrifice is accepted and the visualization solidified, the user becomes the channel through which the foreign power flows. This is the final and most dangerous stage, where the incantation takes effect and reality shifts according to the invoked will.

Eldritch Contractual Incantations are regarded with fear and suspicion. Their results are powerful, but unpredictable. Use of this magic is often outlawed, and those who practice it risk being hunted, feared, or corrupted. Yet for those who dare, the power it grants is beyond traditional comprehension.
