Advanced Crafting Information

What is Advanced Crafting?

Advanced Crafting is a progression-based roleplay system that allows characters within the world to create and refine armor, equipment, tools, and more through effort, skill, and world interaction. Unlike simple item acquisition or shop transactions, this system focuses on the process and development of the crafter themselves, emphasizing depth, creativity, and your own growth.

Crafting is not just about making an object, it is about becoming a creator. This system introduces various factors to showcase and improve this, such as skill tiers, evolving object mechanics, and modifiable components like runes and materials.

In Shinseina World, many adventurers wield powerful gear or rare tools, but few understand what goes into forging such things, or even overlook them as merely things that happen. The Advanced Crafting System highlights the role of artisans and bring to you a way for those artisans to thrive better, those who build, imbue, and innovate, not through brute force, but through creativity, knowledge, and dedication.

As the world evolves, so too do its creators. Crafters can grow in renown, develop a signature object, or even become sought-after for their ability to temper items of legend. It adds long-term progression and narrative depth to a non-combat path.

How Does the Crafting System Work?

Crafting is divided into tiers, and players improve by crafting items, teaching others, learning more about crafting as a whole, researching, or participating in workshop-style roleplay. It is not about who can spam out the most crafted things, but about who can create something meaningful, either alone or with others.

Crafters are ranked by Crafting Tier, while this does not determine what they can create; instead, it can allow great bonuses and extra perks that could help improve the crafted things and even the crafter.

The system includes:

  • Crafting Tier Progression: Advancement based on roleplay accomplishments and judged by the Roleplay Team.

  • Item Quality & Bonuses: High-effort crafting or well-matched materials may result in bonuses or penalties, based on synergy and skill.

  • Tempering & Evolution: Items can grow alongside the user, either by being reforged or through significant roleplay events.

  • Rune & Mod Slotting: Gear crafted at higher tiers can include boosted and better bonus enhancements, scaling in power based on crafting expertise.

    What is Tempering & Evolution?

Rather than simply replacing equipment, they can grow with their wielder. How this works exactly is a bit complicated, and connected to the roleplay team, but also, how you roleplay and what you do in the world.

  • Tempering: The act of reforging an item using new materials or upgraded versions of previous components. Great for improving stats or adding a new property.

  • Evolution: Through IC story events, such as slaying a legendary beast, surviving a trial, or performing a significant action, progress a storyline, and much more, objects may evolve narratively, gaining traits reflective of the journey.

Object evolutions must be submitted for approval and may require special conditions or materials.
