Celestial Channelling
What is Celestial Channelling?
Celestial Channelling is a type of magic ritual that allows the user to perform rituals to tap into the cosmic powers of space, summoning a willing entity from across the various sub-realms and even realms to assist them temporarily. These summoned entities, drawn by the user’s offering and intent, serve a single purpose before vanishing, returning to their own place once the task is complete. How
Does Celestial Channelling Work?
The Ritual:
-
The user performs a ritual to establish a connection with the flow of space.
-
The ritual requires an offering— something of value to entice an entity to respond, this offering is up to the user to decide.
-
Offerings can include mana, items, memories, emotions, bodies, materials, or other creative sacrifices.
-
The quality of the offering determines the strength and willingness of the summoned entity.
The Summoning: -
A random entity answers the call by sensing the ripples from the summon throughout the flow of space, appearing temporarily to aid the user.
-
The summoned being’s power and nature are influenced by the offering and the user's intent.
Pact Formation:
-
Some entities may choose to form a pact with the user, binding themselves permanently to the summoner.
-
Once bound, the entity can be summoned repeatedly with greater ease, but this comes with a trade-off.
-
The user can no longer summon random entities— only the bound one, even if it perishes.
Completion:
-
The entity vanishes after fulfilling its task unless a pact is in place or another agreement has been made.
What Are The Ranks?
There are no predefined ranks for entities. Instead, their power level corresponds to the quality of the ritual and the offering’s value. A poorly prepared ritual might summon a weak entity, while a grand offering can attract powerful beings. It is up to the users to gauge what an entity might find valuable; some beings desire rare treasures, others emotions, knowledge, or even symbolic gestures.
