The Hunt For Crime
Bounty Hunting is a respectable profession, as it keeps the place clean.
The Bounty Board is a feature designed to provide players, primarily those with the Bounty Hunter status, with dynamic capture and even kill missions. These missions involve apprehending or defeating a target, be it an NPC or player, who has committed a crime or earned the hatred of someone within the world of Shinseina.

All bounties are created exclusively through roleplay for valid reasons. This ensures that each mission is grounded in the story and lore of the world. OOC reasons cannot be used to place a bounty; you must have an in-character justification.

While anyone can accept a bounty, those with the Bounty Hunter status are equipped with unique perks and advantages, making them more effective and rewarded participants overall.

Bounties can be placed on both NPCs and Players, depending on their actions within the roleplay. NPC bounties are often handled by GMs, while player bounties are more varied and usually result from crimes committed in the world.

-
NPC Bounties:
These are issued for significant threats or criminals within the roleplay world. They can be major story antagonists or smaller criminals used to allow player progression. Successfully capturing or eliminating an NPC target often has ripple effects on the world, either minor or major. -
Player Bounties:
These are carefully managed and must be justified in-character. Once placed, a player becomes a valid target for bounty hunters, but only under fair conditions and with the player’s consent. The reason must come from the roleplay world and not from outside conflicts.

The Rewards and Backlash
Bounty Hunting comes with rewards, but just as such it comes with backlash for failing.
Successful bounty hunters may receive a variety of in-character and out-of-character rewards, depending on the mission’s difficulty and importance. These may include:

-
Valuable Items:
Rare weapons, enchanted gear, or special tools that aren’t otherwise easy to obtain. -
Favor:
Influence or goodwill from powerful factions, individuals, or organizations that can be used in future roleplay or quests. -
Information and Secrets:
Access to classified or hidden knowledge about other characters, events, or locations that can be used strategically. -
Reputation Points:
Completing bounties increases your standing on the bounty hunter leaderboard, unlocking further rewards, perks, and recognition across the world.

However, not every bounty ends in success. Failing a bounty has real consequences, and bounty hunters must weigh the risks:

-
Reputation Loss:
A failed bounty lowers your ranking and causes you to lose Reputation Points, making it harder to rise. -
Target Fame:
If the target escapes or resists, they may become more notorious, gaining fame and making future attempts more dangerous or difficult. -
Hunter Becomes the Hunted:
In extreme cases, the bounty hunter may become a target themselves, especially if the mission was important or mishandled. -
Punishment by Client:
Clients may impose fines, penalties, or other punishments if a bounty hunter wastes their time or resources through failure.
